Throughput on the Storj network should be split into two separate parts:
1. Uplink
The uplink throughput limitations to offload files on the Storj network depend on three aspects:
- Number of concurrent uploads from the customer.
- Combined download throughput of the storage nodes.
2. Downlink
The downlink throughput limitations to pull files on the Storj network depend on three aspects:
- Number of concurrent downloads from the nodes.
- The combined upload throughput of the storage nodes. Note that this is always less than their downlink. Meaning that pushing a file to Storj will generally be faster than pulling a file. This difference however does not have to be noticeable.
